Origami Crane

Did you know that November 11 is Origami Day in Japan? Today also marks the last day of World Origami Days, a celebration held each year from October 24-November 11.

You can do your part to celebrate by folding an origami model to give to a friend. I suggest making an origami crane. The crane, in addition to being one of the most popular origami models, is recognized as a symbol of peace.

If you want to mark the occasion by teaching origami to a child, the origami ninja star is a popular paper toy that goes over well with most children.
