This origami card holder or business card stand is great for place cards at parties, menu holder at cafes, and to display your business cards. You can also use these stands to display photos and any other flat item, such as credit cards. Another unique use would be to use this as a little stand to keep sewing needles or safety pins at the ready. What You'll Need
Materials
- Sheet of paper, approximately 6 inches by 6 inches
Instructions
Start with the paper with the color you'd like as the strip that the card fits into. In this case, the bottom strip will be blue.
Fold Bottom Edge
Begin by folding the bottom edge all the way up to the top edge and making a crease in the very center.
-
Unfold
And then unfold.
-
Fold Bottom Edge Up
Now fold the bottom edge up to the center crease, followed by the top edge, and then unfold both back to the square.
-
Fold Right Edge
Fold the right edge all the way over to the left edge but don't make a big crease, just a small pinch mark in the center is enough. This is to avoid an ugly crease in the middle.
-
Fold Left and Right Edges
Now you can fold the left and right edges to the little mark you just made, and then unfold.
-
Flip Paper
Flip the paper to the other side.
-
Fold Bottom Edge
Fold the bottom edge up to the first horizontal crease from the bottom.
-
Flip Paper Again
Flip the paper over to the other side, keeping the folded bottom edge at the bottom.
-
Fold Left and Right Edges
Fold the left and right edges again to the middle. You can see you now have a section at the bottom.
-
Refold Horizontal Creases
Refold the horizontal creases. Now assemble by inserting the very top into the flap, and you're done.
